Where Are Solar Companies For Installation?

There are many areas within the United States where there are solar companies.  More people are making the switch to photovoltaic energy, and so it only goes to reason that more businesses would be involved in producing and installing the panels and systems.

The east coast is one place where there are solar companies.  Located in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Vermont are producers of these panels. Throughout the Midwest and west coast it is possible to find them as well in states like Missouri, Pennsylvania, California, Arizona, and Colorado.

Unlike other types of alternative power like wind turbines or hydropower, it is possible to install photovoltaic panels anywhere the sun shines.  Wind and water energy systems often need to be installed in areas that have the best access to those resources.  Many times there are land restrictions on them as well. For example, a wind turbine cannot be installed on less than one acre of land. Those types of systems are not suitable for every situation and every location.  However, when one is installing solar power, the panels can be in many different positions or locations within a residence or business to best utilize unobstructed availability to the sun light in the area.  They do not need to be mounted on the building either.  They can be placed in a framed structure wherever they will get the most sun light.

One can usually find an installer where there are solar companies that sell the panels.  The installation requires trained professionals who work with photovoltaic energy, and electricians that have the capability to wire the panels together. It is never a good idea to attempt to do this without the help of those that know what they are doing.

It is easy to answer the question where are local solar companies by doing some research online.  They are all listed and can be found through a search engine like Bing or Google.  One can also find these businesses by going to the U.S. Department of Energy website.  Many of those that are licensed retailers and installers will be located on the USDOE’s site to allow customers to easily find them.

Even if someone lives in a state where there are solar companies, but they are not nearby, it is still possible to arrange for them to install the panels.  They often travel from one area to the other to help customers make the switch to sun generated electricity.
It is also possible to check with the local electric provider to find retailers and installers.  Many times they work in partnership with the electric providers.  This partnership sometimes even provides a net metering program which will allow a home owner to sell their electrical overage to the electric company.  It is always good to ask if the state of residence or the local electric provider participates in this type of program as not all do.

It is easy to find the right installer and retailer by doing some homework and checking with the right agencies.  Investing in alternative energy is what many home owners are doing to help lower energy costs.
